JOSH TREADWAY
BRIDGED EIGHT POINT TULIPWOOD
WITH EBONY & WHITE POINTS,
OVERLAPPING WINDOWS
 AND EBONY HANDLE

This is a ravishing cue by Josh Treadway.  It is a masterful design utilizing outstanding woods, beautiful colors and executed with outstanding workmanship.  It is Treadway at his best.

This stick has it all - eight long points, radiant woods,  beautifully executed veneers, veneered overlapping windows, fancy inlaid ring work, tight inlay work and a gorgeous ebony handle.  There's a lot to talk about.

First, I love the tulipwood.  It's beautiful.  And the way the six points feed into it with the perfect blend of veneer colors is masterful.

The butt sleeve, more deep, dark ebony, provides the perfect backdrop for the elegant overlapping windows - again, all framed with matching veneer colors from the points.

The eight points are comprised of four ebony and four white LBM.   He alternates the same woods in the windows in the butt sleeve.  Josh is a real stickler for making sure the forearms and butt sleeves of his sticks go together well, synthesizing the materials and design so the whole cue comes together perfectly.

The alternating tulipwood and white LBM windows stand out brilliantly against the deep black ebony background.  And I like the way he uses silver dots and notched diamond inlays in all the boxes, again alternating between white and black.

The veneer colors in this cue are subtle, but integral to the overal effect created.  They are red, blue, orange, white and black, and they are used on the points as well as the windows.

It's nice to note how clean and sharp the mitered corners are on the windows and the bridges at the bottom of the points.  His tolerance for error leads to extremely tight and meticulous work.

One of the more striking butt sleeves I've seen ...

Keep in mind these are inlaid rings, and there are nine sets of them in this cue.  That's a ton of work.

I love the look of this eight point design.  The contrast of these subtle colors in the veneers against the radiant tulipwood creates an exquisite result.

I'm always a fan of the use of tulipwood in a cue.  It's a beautiful wood and this is an outstanding piece, nicely figured and with a bright, rich color.

Below are several wide shots of the cue so that you can appreciate its overall appearance.  The deep black ebony handle blends perfectly with the forearm and the butt sleeve.  It's a truly stunning cue.

He builds it with a flat-faced white LBM joint with a stainless steel radial pin.  It comes with a complete set of custom joint protectors with matching rings, engraved on the top with the "T" logo and the numbers "1" and "2" to distinquish the shafts.

It comes with two of Josh's premium quality maple 13mm shafts with a medium pro taper, LBM ferrules and double pressed LePro tips.  It weighs either 19.9, or 20.1 ounces depending on which shaft is used (16.1, 3.8, 4.0), and has great balance.  It is 58 inches long.
