TIM PRINCE
BRIDGED EIGHT POINT
EBONY AND MAPLE
WITH SILVER INLAYS AND FANCY RINGS

Here is one more exquisite cue from one of the best cuemakers around, Tim Prince.  This is another bridged eight point with an ebony butt sleeve and points into a birdseye maple nose.  It has exquisite veneer work and intricate silver and white Supertusk inlays, all joining together to culminate in a marvelous cue.

Tim isn't going to be able to make the International Cue Collector Show this year, but if he did, this was going to be his entry into the "ICCS Special Collection."  He took a lot of pride in the way this cue turned out, and I'm proud to be able to offer it for sale here on the Recollection Cues website.

Everything about this cue is appealing, from the pretty figure in the birdseye maple to the subtle and elegant violet color in the veneers.  It's one of those cues that the more you look at it, the better you like it.  The word "elegant" jumps into your mind immediately.

As with some of his other high end cues, he bridges the short points so that they appear to overlay the long points.  It's a unique design that gives his cues an unusual appearance.  And with these veneer colors, it is just a splendid cue.

In the base of each point he inlays a white arrow-head, highlighting each with intricate silver inlays.

In the close-up below you get a good look at the inlay work in the points, as well as a good view of the veneer colors.  All of this merges pefectly with the sophisticated ringwork just below.

The butt sleeve is a work of art in itself.  He uses a complex design of silver inlays with a foundation of white Supertusk to create a very unusual pattern.  And set against the black Gabon ebony background, it reeks of elegance and sophistication.

I love this pattern he uses in the butt sleeve.  I've never seen anything quite like it before.  As usual, his use of extensive silver work makes it something special.

This black ebony points outlined with this very subdued violet veneer work really "make" this cue.  It's very classy.  And the bridged points - as they do in any cue - make it something extraordinary.  They are always a lot of extra work and time for the cuemaker, but it always seems to be worth the effort.

Below are a few closeups that show just how good the meticulous work is accomplished in this cue. Even when magnified, the work is impeccable.  Looking closely you can see the veneer colors are black, white and violet, but at arm's length, the dominant color is the violet.

The ring pattern is similar to others used in some of Tim's cues, but they are very unique to his work.  He uses a large number of small silver wire inlays forming a series of flowing ovals circling the cue, all rotating around small white inlaid crosses.

As with all his cues, the veneer work is excellent, and the points are long, sharp and even.

This is an outstanding stick, both for play and as a beautiful, visual piece of art.  It is built with 3/8X10 steel pin in a flat-faced joint.  His cues always have a great hit, and you'll notice it immediately when you hit a few balls.

It weighs either 18.9 or 19.0 ounces depending which shaft is used (15.4, 3.5, 3.6) and is 58 inches long.  It comes with two of his premium maple shafts with ferrules made from Sabre-T LBM, which plays great and resists staining from chalk.  It also has Ultraskin tips. And as usual, he inlays his TP logo in silver in the butt cap.

This is a rare and unusual "one of a kind" cue that will make a great addition to a collection, or become a great everyday playing cue for someone.
