NORTH DEMON
WRAPLESS SIX POINT TULIPWOOD
WITH EBONY POINTS,
THREE PART SEGMENTED HANDLE,
SILVER VENEERS AND FANCY RINGS
Here is another gorgeous cue from Cheng at North Demon, this time in two of my personal favorite woods - tulipwood and ebony. It's a six point design - six up and six down, three long and three short.
The points are all veneered in silver, giving this cue a look of elegance that could not have been achieved without it.
Cheng inlays a propellor shaped inlay in the base of each point. In the long points it is a white LBM inlay veneered with silver. In the short points it is a smaller, solid silver inlay. The proportions are perfect.
All the points are tipped with silver tulips - very elegant inlays that round out the inlay work in this dazzling cue.
One of the best things about this cue, however, is the selection of these gorgeous woods. The tulipwood is bright and colorful with beautiful grain, and the ebony is nice and black, and shows wonderfully against the lighter tulipwood background.
And as usual with North Demon cues, the ringwork is magnificent. These are all inlaid with silver and are used generously throughout the design of the stick.

Another look at this beautiful tulipwood ...
The handle segmented through the use of the pretty rings, and is built from the black proprietary material that only North Demon uses. As mentioned elsewhere on this site, Cheng doesn't like using ebony in handles, as he feels it makes it difficult to manage weight and balance, and believes this material provides better feedback than traditional ebony.
Through the use of two inlaid rings in the handle it appears to be a three-piece handle. For fans of wrapless cues, this one will make the juices flow.
A close up look at the meticulous inlay work that is typical of North Demon cues.
The fancy ringwork is also used at the joint, on the ring collars of the shafts and on the matching joint protector.
I love the delicate tulips tipping each point. They add a lot of class to an already elegant cue.

Of course, the best thing about North Demons is the great hit that can only be appreciated when playing with one. They have a stiff, crisp hit with outstanding balance, with wonderful low deflection shafts. They have a unique and distinct hit and feel like no other cue.
It is built with a flat-faced joint with a titanium radial pin. It comes with two shafts - one keelwood and one premium maple - both of which have the North Demon logo engraved in their base. This one weighs either 19.5 or 19.2 ounces depending on which shaft is used (B 15.7, KW 3.8, MPL 3.5). It is 58 inches long, and is built with a receiver in the butt to accomodate many generic extensions (Predator, etc.). Like all North Demons, it comes with a set of weight bolts so the weight and balance can be adjusted.
PRICE: $6650 PLUS SHIPPING (Keep in mind our price includes all shipping and customs charges incurred in importing this cue to the U.S.)
