JERRY McWORTER
"VICTORIAN CROWN"
WRAPLESS EBONY
WITH CURLY KOA HANDLE

For many years Jerry has been known for making some of the best hitting cues on the market - so much so that this past year he was voted into the American Cuemakers Association's Hall of Fame.  He's known for his meticulous work, exquisite designs and dazzling silver work.  This cue is an example of all these features.

Although he has an endless number of great designs, he seldom makes a wrapless cue.  This is his only wrapless design.  So for any wrapless fans, this cue is a seldom-realized opportunity to get one of his sticks.

It's made from some beautiful sheer black Gabon ebony, using a gorgeous piece of curly Koa for the handle.  Koa is endemic to the Hawaiian islands where it is the second most common tree.  However, because the limited supply is quickly consumed by the builders of furniture, musical instruments, and occasionally, cues.  It comes in various shades and tones, and the grain exhibits itself in endless patterns.

Of course, the pretty wood is just the beginning of this beauty.  He adds some ornate inlay work, along with a nice display of his finest silver work to complete what becomes a very handsome cue.

I love this design.  It's difficult to tell where the handle ends and the butt sleeve and nose begin.  The koa goes into the ebony, and the ebony goes into the koa, and the silver and sleek white inlays help the transition work.

This koa is impressive - nice and curly, and it's dazzling when the cue is in motion.  Nice color and figure throughout.

This is a stunning cue.  Most cue makers, when faced with the need for a wrapless cue, simply put in a wood handle where the leather or linen would normally be applied.  Not Jerry - he creates a special design to make it classy and refined.

Another good look at the transition area between the handle and the cue ...

And another look at the superb koa.

And the butt sleeve - all ebony, with Jerry name and cue identification number engraved.

This ebony is not only striking in appearance, it is one of the best woods for a strong, solid hit.

It's hard to stop looking at (or taking pictures of) this great design.  It's typical McWorter, at his best.

His use of silver always makes his designs explode, and result in dazzling cues.  This one is exquisite.

As usual, he builds a matching joint protector for the butt.  The shaft comes with his generic black cap.  He always includes one shaft with his sticks, with his own proprietary low-deflection design and his own personal, great-playing taper.

As always, he builds it with his modified 3/8X10 big steel pin in a flat-faced, wood to wood joint.  It weighs 18.8 oz (15,2, 3.6), and is 58 inches long.  This cue also comes with a free four inch untra-light extension made specifically by Jerry to fit his cues.

As always, I choose the finest cues with the best woods from the few cues Jerry makes.  This is a dazzling cue, built by one of the industry's best builders.  If you're looking for a high quality, top notch cue in a wrapless application, this cue is for you.
