JERRY McWORTER
ENGRAVED EBONY CUE

Here is another magnificent cue by the ACA Hall of Fame cuemaker Jerry McWorter.  Known for his top-of-the-line silver work and exquisite designs, he is not only one of the most skilled cue builders alive, but also one of the industry's greatest artists.

This is one of my favorite designs from Jerry McWorter, and that's saying a lot, because I really like all his designs.  It's very clean and elegant.  There is noone who has more spectacular and well-executed designs.  And when you add his top-shelf silver work, cues just don't get much better.

This is not a new design, but it's one he doesn't frequently make except on special order.  It is in ebony, elforyn, silver, and one of the few cues on which he does his expert engraving.  As with a lot of Jerry's designs, it is simplicity and sheer beauty - and ultimate playability - all in one package.

It is, for the most part, a solid ebony cue, and that's hard to beat for playability.  But what he does with it aesthetically is dazzling.  It's one of the most elegant and graceful sticks I've seen.  He uses long sweeping inlays of white LBM to form long points, and within the base of each he engraves enticing patterns that add sheer class.

Then, he uses long graceful veneers of silver to form the shorter points.  And in the base of each of those he again does the elegant engraving.

In the bases of the white points he engraves in black, and in the black points reverses the colors by engraving in white.

It's such an interesting and well-conceived design.  He actually "bridges" the bottoms of the white points with ebony.

Of course, it's not quite what it appears to be.  You have to study it awhile to see that the entire front is made from one big piece of ebony with floating white points framed in silver, which continue on around the cue forming the silver points.

Reversing the colors of the engraving with the alternating points is genius.

The long delicate points extending far into the nose of the cue are stunning.

As with most of his sticks, he adds a white ring above and below the wrap, which clearly frame the handle and provide separation for the work in the nose and butt sleeve.

The butt sleeve design is simply a shortened version of the design in the forearm in reverse.

As with all his cues, he engraves his name and an identification number in the butt cap.

The best thing about any of Jerry's cues is their playability.  Known for their soft, solid hit and great balance, they are remarkably consistent in the way they play.  If you like one, you'll like them all.  He doesn't deviate from the successful formula that has been his mainstay for many years.

He uses the same black leather wrap on 99% of his sticks.  It's a soft, luxurious leather that is applied as few cue makers can.  Even though the creamy texture doesn't give the seam much room to hide, it looks virtually seamless.  It takes a thorough search to find it.

His shafts are all interchangeable, and he typically uses the same double-silver ring pattern in them all.   And with each of his cues he builds a joint protector for the butt with matching wood.
It is built with a 3/8X10 steel pin, and comes with one 13mm low deflection premium shaft with a short LBM ferrule and a Kamui medium tip.  It is 58 inches long and weighs 19.8 oz (16.0, 3.8).

SPECIAL TIME-LIMITED OFFER - We will include one of Jerry's 4 inch extensions for free!  (Normally $200)

This is an outstanding cue that plays as good as it looks ... and that's saying a lot.
