LARRY VIGUS
WRAPLESS EBONY
WITH HONDURAN ROSEWOOD BURL HANDLE
AND MOTHER OF PEARL AND SILVER INLAYS

Here is an absolutely gorgeous cue by a top cue maker.  Larry Vigus has been making cues in Texas for many years and he doesn't make many.  His work is always meticulous and his designs hold their own against any competition.  This one was just finished in time for the ICCS show in Oklahoma.

This is a brand new cue, and I was struck immediately by how classy it looked, with gold-lipped mother of pearl inlays, .999 fine silver, high quality ebony and beautiful Honduran Rosewood burl.

Larry is a fine cue maker, and this stick shows why.  The work is very tight, the quality of all the material is top-notch, and the design is beautiful and original.

I love the silver veneer work in the forearm and the butt sleeve.  It's an interesting design that flows well and looks great again the dark black ebony.

The design of the silver work in the butt and forearm match well and complement each other perfectly.

If you're a fan of wrapless cues, this one is an excellent choice.  Not only does this stick look exquisite, but it plays equally well.  This was the first time I've had a Vigus cue, and I was anxious to test-hit a few balls with it.  It did not disappoint.  It hits crisply and solid, and has great balance.

The Honduran Rosewood burl is dazzling - great color, and excellent figure. A great choice for an outstanding cue.

What really locked this cue in, for me, was the mother of pearl inlaid ring pattern above and below the handle.  The gold lipped mother of pearl has great color, and I'm unhappy I can't seem to get the great color to show off in my pics, but believe me, it's there.

What highlights the MOP inlays even more is that each one is outlined in .999 fine silver.  This pattern is delicate, and very appealing.

Another thing I love about this stick is the dazzling inlay work - again, in more mother of pearl and silver - in the joint itself.  It's stunning.

This Honduran Rosewood burl is from an outstanding piece of wood.  The burl is deep and rich, a gorgeous rich brown, and almost looks three-dimensional.

He builds it with a flat-faced wood-to-wood joint with a 3/8X10 steel pin.  He also adds a nice set of ebony joint caps with his "V" logo on the top of each.  Each of the shafts have a white Juma ring which matches the white ring on the joint of the butt.

It comes with two 13mm premium maple shafts with Juma ferrules and medium Thoroughbred tips. It weighs 19.8 ounces (16.2, 3.6, 3.6) and is 58 inches long.  It has a solid, soft hit that really crushes the ball, and excellent balance.
This is a chance to get a new cue from a very good cue maker who doesn't make many cues.  Most are made to special order for specific customers, and it's rare that a new is found available on the open market.
