JOSSWEST CONCHO CUE

This new cue from Bill Stroud is my finest Josswest.  I purchased it at the the 2008 International Cue Collectors' Show in Kansas City.  It was one of five cues Bill brought to the show and of all the cues at the show, this was the one I couldn't pass up.  It's another fine ebony and ivory cue, but this one has hundreds of intricate inlays that makes it an unusual and complex work of art.

By my best count there are 244 separate inlays in this cue.  It's an ebony base with four short and four long ivory points in the nose, and it's chock full of silver, ivory and blue lapis inlays.  It has an ivory joint, butt cap and a fine black lizard wrap.  And, of course, it plays great like all JW cues.

Bill said he tried to give this cue a "Southwest" flavor with the blue lapis patterns in the butt sleeve that are reminiscent of silver conchos typical on Mexican jewelry and saddle work.  I believe it's one of the prettiest JW's I've seen.

Each long ivory point is tipped with a fine silver spear point, and combined with the other silver work throughout the cue, it has a very classy look.  It has two 13mm shafts and weighs about 19.2 ounces.  This is one of my favorite cues.  This cue looks fantastic coming out of a smooth black leather Whitten case.
