AMBOYNA BURL FOUR POINT BY GILBERT

This is another cue from the "Recollection Series" made exclusively for me by Andy Gilbert.  Common to all cues in this series is the Hoppe-style butt cap with an ivory ring lined with veneers that match the veneers lining the points.  Beyond that, the cues differ greatly with regard to types of woods and wraps.

This one is a beauty, and costs a bit more than some of the others because of the special amboyna burl wood in the butt sleeve and points.  (If you're not familiar with amboyna burl, it is a mottled, curly grained wood from a Southeast Asian tree of the legume family.)

The burl in the sleeve is exceptional - highly figured with lots of character.   It's also very pretty in the points.  To add even more to the attractiveness (and value) of this cue, Andy added a genuine black elephant wrap which looks good and feels great.

The veneers in this cue are black, white, brown, white, black, and frame both the points and the ivory ring at the butt cap.  It has an ivory joint and also some attractive ringwork.

This cue sells for $1300, has two 13mm shafts with LBM ferrules and LePro tips.  It weighs about 19 oz.  The wood in this cue is outstanding and it hits great.
