Recollection Cues

Collectible Cues, Cases & Quality Players

Here again is a very pretty merry widow style cue from David Elliott.  As I've mentioned elsewhere on this site, David has been apprenticing in the Chris Nitti shop for a number of years, and over the last couple of years has transitioned into making his own sticks on his own machinery within the Nitti shop.

This stick is made from a nice piece of Gabon ebony, with a handle of ???.  Contrasted against the mostly black features - the joint, rings, wrap and butt cap - it really stands out and makes a beautiful cue.

The maple is equally pretty in both the nose and butt sleeve.

Above and below the wrap he builds in two solid double-black phenolic rings, separated in the middle by two thin (.015 in) white fiber rings.  It's an attractive combination and really sets off the handle and helps frame the nose and butt sleeve.

The butt cap is of double-black phenolic, which looks great on this stick, and adds great durability.  As usual, he engraves his "E" logo in the cap.

He uses the same black pheolic at the joint, in a flat-faced configuration with the black sleeve over wood, with a stainless steel radial pin.  He also uses the double white fiber rings.

Just above is a close-up picture of the beautiful Spanish bull leather wrap.

He then uses the black phenolic again on the ring collars of the shafts, with the double white fiber rings.

This phenolic sleeve over wood joint, in a flat-faced configuration with the radial pin makes for a great hit.  It's virtually the same hit that has made all the cues that have come out of the Nitti shop over the years the favorite of many players.

This cue comes with two 13mm shafts of top quality, hard, tight grained maple with elforyn ferrules and Wizard soft tips.  It weighs 19.3 ounces.  It is a very pretty cue at a very affordable price, and plays great.
