Recollection Cues

Collectible Cues, Cases & Quality Players

Here is one more from David Elliott that again relies on the natural beauty of the woods to create a very pretty cue.  He uses a very nicely colored piece of purpleheart in both the butt sleeve and the nose, and for the handle a gorgeous piece of highly figured maple burl.

The purpleheart has a nice rich color - better than a lot that you see used in cues.  It's nice and purple, and has a pretty grain rather the mottled look you see in many pieces.

The burl is really nice.  It's highly figured and has a "depth" to it that you don't always see.  It has a nice light brown maple color with lots of undertones and some bold dark streaks.

The contrast between the two woods is really striking.  This is a great cue for someone who prefers the wrapless feel.

Above and below the burl handle he uses a black phenolic ring with a super thin double white fiber ring.  They frame the handle nicely.

I love this straight-grained purpleheart.  This is about as good a quality purpleheart as you can find - a perfect combination of grain and color.

As usual, he engraves his "E" logo in the butt cap.  The cap and the joint are both of double-black phenolic.

Here are some good pics that show the beauty of the maple burl in this handle.

Gorgeous woods throughout this cue...

He builds this one with the black phenolic sleeve over wood joint, with a stainless steel radial pin.  It hits stiff, soft and solid.  If you're familiar with the great hit of "Nitti" cues, you'll like this cue equally well.

It comes with two 13mm shafts of top quality maple, with linen-based melamine ferrules and soft Wizard tips.  It weighs 18.8 ounces.

This is a very pretty cue, with a great hit, for a very reasonable price.
