MIKE DURBIN
CURLY MAPLE MERRY WIDOW
WITH GOLD-VEINED BLUE LAPIS RINGS
Here is a terrific cue from Mike Durbin in very pretty curly maple with fancy blue lapis rings. Mike is known for making excellent playing cues at an affordable price, and this one fits that bill.
As you can see, one of the "co-stars" of this cue is the wood. This is exhibition quality curly maple.
The other co-star is the dazzling gold-veined blue lapis used in the rings. (Blue lapis is a naturally occuring mineral.)
This curly maple is absolutely radiant.
These rings are unique. I've never seen this pattern used before. He uses polished brass to frame the blue material, and in a pattern that is very unusual.
Additionally, he uses this set of rings above and below the handle, and the uses a second set at the joint and on the ring collars of the shafts.
He builds it with a white LBM joint to add another nice feature to this handsome cue.
He uses a pretty black embossed leather wrap, that has a nice sheen to it, and feels great in the hand.
No matter which perspective from which you choose to view this cue, the grain and figure is exceptional.
He builds it with a flat faced joint and his usual 3/8 X 11 steel pin for great strength and playability. It comes with two of his premium, high quality maple 13mm shafts with Juma ferrules and medium Lepro tips. It weighs 18.4 ounces (14.8, 3.6, 3.6) and is 58 inches long.
This is a very pretty cue built for business - a great playing cue that looks good and is very affordable. It's a cue someone will be proud to own for a long time.
