CODY CASH
BLACK ASH BURL AND EBONY
FOUR POINT

Here's another beauty by Cody Cash from Wichita.  He's continuing to build excellent cues under his "PK" brand, and his work gets better every time I see.  This is one of several cues I hand-picked from his display at the recent Shooters tournament in Kansas.

This one is made from one of my favorite woods - Black Ash burl.  It always looks great in cues.  I'm always drawn to pretty woods and this one immediately caught my attention.

He uses one solid piece for the butt sleeve and then again in the four points. These go forward into a nice piece of ebony, finishing in a great overall look and a very good playing stick.

This Black Ash burl has really pretty color, and nice "veins" running throughout.  Cody has given it the perfect showcase to show its stuff.

These long points of black ash burl, outlined in the predominant yellow, look exquisite against the ebony nose.

Although the predominant visual effect of the veneers colors is yellow, when you look closer you see actually five layers of veneer - silver, black, yellow, black and red.  It's really very nice veneer work.

The points are long, sharp and even.

He uses his familiar black and white check rings at all locations.

He wraps it with a nice black leather wrap with a pebbled texture.

He uses black phenolic for both the joint and butt cap.  They look great on this wood combination.

It is built with a 3/8X10 brass pin in a flat-faced joint, and comes with two 13mm premium maple shafts with Juma ferrules and LePro tips.  It weighs either 19.1 or 19.3 ounces depending which shaft is used (15,4, 3.9, 3.7).  This is a great playing cue with a nice flair.
