Recollection Cues

Collectible Cues, Cases & Quality Players

Here is another beautiful cue from the Carmeli shop that is traditional, classy and fancy all at the same time.  It's a six point (three long, three short) ebony on ebony cue with pretty rings and beautiful inlays of highly figured and colored abalone.

The inlay pattern in the butt sleeve is complex and very, very pretty.   He uses a series of creamy white elforyn ovals, ellipses and spearheads all inlaid with beautifully cut abalone.

Ariel is one of the west coast cuemakers who always seem to have the best of woods.  In this case, the ebony is black, black, black.  He uses it not only in the nose and the butt sleeve, but also in the points.

If you're not familiar with the work of Carmeli, his cues have a reputation for being beautiful, with nice tight work, and providing a lot of value for the money.  But better than that, they have a reputation for being great players as well.  They always hit a ton.

The butt sleeve of this cue is elaborate and beautiful.  There's a lot of work in this cue, and for the price, this kind of work is hard to match.

The points (ebony on ebony) are nicely framed with a subtle set of three veneers - white, black and white.  The white veneers are bleached sycamore.  They're bright, yet very low key, and allow the ebony to be the star.

This is a very elegant and yet subtle cue.  The inlay patterns are flashy, but the overall effect of the cue is all business.

Ariel wraps this one with a black Spanish bull leather.  It's my favorite wrap - soft and supple and long-wearing.

The work in Carmeli cues is meticulous and as close to perfect as human hands can make it.  His tolerances are super tight, and all this is reflected in the sound, solid hit that every one of his cues demonstrates.

Many of Ariel's cue have this same ring pattern.  In fact, it's become a trademark of sorts for him.  You can immediately recognize many of his cues by the rings. He uses highly stylized diamonds linked together with two silver rings, and varies the number of diamonds in each ring to coordinate with the number of points.

Even under the closest examination, Ariel's work shines.

This cue comes with two 13mm shafts of premium quality tight-grained maple, with melamine ferrules and Triangle tips.  It is built with a flat-faced joint with a 3/8X10 stainless steel pin.  It weighs 19.15 ounces.
