Recollection Cues

Collectible Cues, Cases & Quality Players

Carmeli's Choice #1

This would be a simple, basic little cue except for two things -- it's made by Ariel Carmeli, and it has some of the nicest cocobolo I've ever seen.  It's not a fancy cue, but it is a very pretty one.  I'll try to let the pictures do most of the talking...

I've tried to give you a couple of different views...

And the butt sleeve ...

Ariel does a nice job of not overdoing the work in this stick and detracting from the beauty of the wood.  He adds some simple rings of "jeweler's gold" (brass), and put them above and below the wrap and at the joint, as well as on the shaft collar.  At the butt cap, he doubles the ring with two layers of ivory between, and an ivory ring in the middle.  It's a nice, clean design that works well in this cue.

He adds a nice black linen wrap that is heavily pressed and feels good in the hand.  It really complements the overall look of the cue.

He finishes it off with a flat-faced joint with a G-10 pin.  It hits solid and plays well.  This one comes with only one shaft, which helps keep the price down.  It's 13mm with an LBM ferrule.  It weighs 18.8 ounces.

This is a pretty stick for a great price.    $700.
