ARIEL CARMELI
"HOPPE" STYLE FOUR POINT
EBONY ON EBONY
WITH LASER BLUE VENEERS

Ariel Carmeli has been making some of the best playing and prettiest cues in the world for many years now.  They are always in high demand, for a number of reasons.  First, they play well.  Second, the work is always meticulous and tight.  Third, his finishes are always top notch.  And fourth, they always display a lot of work for a good price.  This cue is a good example.

The design of this cue is a "Hoppe" style, with a slick, solid butt sleeve of ebony with a white LBM ring just above the butt cap.  The nose is all ebony, with "laser" blue veneers that make this stick stand out wherever it is played.

This is a super-slick looking stick.  The high quality, pure black ebony, highlighted by these laser blue veneers makes it look like an all business, get down to work cue.  And that it is.

In the base of each ebony point is a classic notched diamond of pure white LBM diamond.  The veneers themselves are made up of four layers - white, light blue, dark blue and again, white.  But the predominant color that comes through is blue ... laser bright blue.

The veneer work is sharp and and the points are long and even.

He uses a wrap of black Spanish bull leather for the handle.  It's a great wrap.  It looks good, feels even better, and will wear well.

At the joint, and on the ring collars of each shaft, he adds a ring set of two silver rings sandwiching a series of white LBM and ebony rectangles.  It really sets off this exquisite, but modest, fine playing cue.

The butt sleeve is of pure, black flawless ebony.  Here is where a top finish really shines, and Ariel knows how to do it ... a classic look for an exquisite cue.

The veneer work in this cue is perfect, giving a very striking look to a modest, classic design.  Simple in some respects, it is anything but ... it holds its own anywhere it is displayed.

As usual, he signs and dates the cue.  This time, he utilizes the white LBM "Hoppe" ring at the butt cap.

He builds it with his usual modified 3/8X10 stainless steel pin in a flat-faced wood to wood joint.  These cues have a soft, yet solid hit, that is moderately stiff.

This one weighs in at 19.2 ounces with either shaft, both at 13mm, with LBM Melamine ferrules and Triangle medium tips.  It is 58 inches long.  It is built with an extension female bolt already in the butt so that an extension can be screwed on right through the rubber bumper, so if you want one later you can add it without having to send the cue back for retrofit.

With top quality ebony like this drawing a premium price these days, this cue is very reasonably priced at...
