Recollection Cues

Collectible Cues, Cases & Quality Players

Here's another pretty stick from one of the best cue makers around.  This one is a basic four point design, but as usual, with Doug's work and his big supply of beautiful woods, it becomes a very striking cue.

He keeps it simple, but classy.  All ebony and maple, with pretty veneer work.

Ebony has gotten very expensive in recent years, and it's more and more difficult to find really good quality.  This ebony is about as good as it gets.

Anyone who has followed this site for any length of time knows hom much emphasis I put on the playability of cues when I do my buying.  That's one of the big reasons I like Doug's cues so much - they hit just as good as they look.

As I mentioned earlier, he keeps this one simple - a simple silver ring above the butt cap and one at the joint, with a matching ring on the joint collar of each shaft.

Very snappy veneer colors - five actually - dark blue, light blue, two orange, light blue and finally, dark blue.

The points are extra long, very sharp, and even.

The maple is nicely colored with lots of birds eye figure.

Even though there are several colors in the veneers, the double orange has the greatest visual impact, and is the dominant color.

He adds a black embossed "lizard" leather wrap.

It looks beautiful on the cue, and feels great in the hand.

Another look at the pretty maple ...

It comes with two 13mm premium maple shafts, and weighs 18.8 ounces (15.2, 3.6, 3.6).  It is 59 inches long.  (Doug makes all his cues 59 inches.)
This is an excellent playing cue, and very classy. And Doug's construction techniques and meticulous attention to detail make this cue a smart buy.
