I obtained this stick for Marcus at the Super Expo recently. As always with his cues, it's beautiful and deadly. It's a simple design enhanced with show-quality wood and exquisite details, and build with some of the tightest construction techniques in the world.

This one is built from beautiful honey colored maple burl (forearm and butt sleeve) with a handle of gorgeous birdseye maple. It's a great combination and is dazzling in its simplicity.

He uses the simplest of rings to separate the handle from the rest of the cue - thin black rings, probably of black phenolic, but perhaps ebony.

It's difficult to stop admiring this wonderful wood.

As with all Arthurs, the logo is engraved into the wood of the butt sleeve.

I have never pinned down what it is exactly that makes Arthur Queues hit so well. Of course, his building technique is as good as it gets, but there's always something special about their hit. I think a lot of it may have to do with a unique thing he does with the joint. Each of the female threads in his shafts is lined with an insert made from G-10 resin, which receives the bolt (rather than directly into wood or brass). It cinches the pin like no other material, and I think it is key to the great hit each of his cues has.

The "hit" of his sticks is truly unique. It's hard to describe, nothing glaring, but just one of the most solid hits in the industry. Everytime I test-it one, I think hard about keeping it for myself. If you're planning to buy a cue and immediately put a different shaft on it (like carbon fiber, keelwood, etc.) I would recommend you not buying this one. A big part of his hit is because of the uniqueness of his shaft joints. You'll want to play with this one exactly as it comes.

The quality of this wood is world-class and makes this cue especially classy.

With this cue, you also get the benefit of Marcus' extraordinary extension joint. It includes the eight inch extension of matching birdseye maple, and has his unique quick on and off pin. And I mean quick. There is no other joint in the industry that attaches and detaches with about an 8th of a turn, or less. You have to experience it to appreciate it - German engineering at its best!

It comes with two of his super high quality low deflection maple shafts with LBM ferrules, and matching joint caps.

The extension is of the same high quality birdseye/curly maple wood used in the handle, has his unique steel quick on and off pin, and a black phenolic cap to protect it from floor dings.

I've studied the pin in this extension and can't quite figure out how it works. It has one thin notch running around it, but connects instantly and is firm and strong when in place.

This one comes with two 13mm premium maple shafts, weighs in at 19 even (15.5, 3.5, 3.5) and is 58 inches long. The joint caps all have the Arthur logo on the tops. It has a white LBM joint (no ivory in this cue). Of course, the extension is included. This is a superb playing cue that will help you enjoy every stroke you take. There are not a lot of Arthurs available in the U.S., so here's a rare chance to get a new one.
